The 77th Emmy Awards lit up the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on September 14, 2025. At Dapper Diary, we were glued to our screens, and what a night it was! The Emmys were hosted by Nate Bargatze, a Grammy-nominated stand-up comedian. The Emmys gave us some unforgettable moments that were filled with cheers, whoas, and history-making wins. As we look back, let’s celebrate the stars, the shows, and the best-dressed screen legends that made this Emmy night so special!
Adolescence stole the spotlight, scooping up six awards, including Best Limited or Anthology Series. Owen Cooper made history as the youngest male Emmy winner ever, while Stephen Graham won Best Actor in the category. Erin Doherty and Philip Barantini also took home trophies, proving the show’s powerhouse status. The Studio, starring Seth Rogen, brought home four Emmys, including Best Comedy Series and Best Actor in a Comedy Series. Rogen also shared directing and writing wins, making it one of the most celebrated shows of the night. Tramell Tillman, became the first Black man to win Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Severance. His co-star Britt Lower also won the Best Actress award.
On the drama side, The Pitt pulled off a strong showing with three wins, including Best Drama Series. Noah Wyle triumphed as Best Actor in a Drama Series, while Katherine LaNasa stunned everyone with her Best Supporting Actress win over tough competition. We are glad to report that the comedy category had its share of surprises too. Jeff Hiller grabbed Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Somebody Somewhere, beating out industry legends like Harrison Ford.
In variety and talk, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert won Best Talk Series. It was definitely an emotional moment since CBS recently announced its cancellation. The crowd chanted “Stephen! Stephen!” as he and his team took the stage.
If you missed the whole show, no worries. We made a list of winners that had us clapping, cheering, and maybe even tearing up with joy.
Although the Emmys is a night that belongs to the cinephiles, movie critics, and such. However, it is also a night of swoon-worthy red carpet looks that keep us coming back for more! They even tempt us to watch all the shows and movies that we might have skipped otherwise. The “naked” dresses, cropped tuxedo jackets, and gorgeous pink dresses made sure we didn’t look away even for a split second!
Jenna Ortega channeled Isabella Rossellini’s dark glamour in a Givenchy creation of pearls and gemstones. The gothic “naked” look was made with illusion fabrics straight from Sarah Burton’s Fall-Winter 2025 runway. She paired it with a skirt instead of pants, refining her goth-glam style from the Wednesday Season 2 press tour.
Lisa stunned in a Lever Couture bubblegum gown crafted from swirling ribbon-like layers. The gorgeous dress featured a thigh-high slit, sheer shoulders, and a wispy train. She completed the pink theme with Bulgari Serpenti jewels, shimmering nails, and matching lipstick.
The late Giorgio Armani’s influence lingered on the red carpet through timeless designs. Cate Blanchett was seen clad in a stunning velvet Armani dress with bedazzled lapels. You can read all about the late Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani here.
Megan Stalter, the Too Much star, carried a handwritten “ceasefire” sign taped to her bag. She kept her look minimal in jeans and a T-shirt. Her understated style ensured the message stood out as one of the night’s boldest statements.
Javier Bardem arrived wearing a keffiyeh and used interviews to denounce ties with Israel. His stance joined a wave of red-carpet activism, echoed later in Hannah Einbinder’s “free Palestine” call during her speech.
When we look back at the 2025 Emmy Awards, we see a night full of energy, history, and heart. We also witnessed emotional highs, like Stephen Colbert’s standing ovation, and historic firsts, like Tramell Tillman’s groundbreaking win. It doesn’t matter if you were watching live or catching up after; we can all agree that this year’s Emmys reminded us why we love television. At Dapper Diary, we all agree that the Emmys bring us together, surprise us, and inspire us every step of the way.
